A native of Sweden, Mattias Weinhandl was originally drafted to the NHL by the New York Islanders in the 3rd round of the 1999 entry draft. He has appeared in 334 NHL games during his career, notching 31 goals and adding 49 assists along with 140 penalty minutes. The 28 year old left wing is eagerly waiting to hit the ice once the season starts.
